On this 17^th day of Oct. 1857 personally appears Ms. Eliza Lucas before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the said county and makes oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that she is well acquainted with a colored girl named Eliza Jane Jackson about sixteen years of age and knows her to be free and born free in Georgetown in the district aforesaid.
