Hello: My name is Frank R Wooten and my Kimball line was Martha Kimball who married Thomas Taylor of Russel co. Ala. Martha Kimballs mother was also Martha Kimball who lived in Chattahochee co Ga with her brother Albert Kimball. I don't know much more about them but they were people of color. I have done a DNA 25 marker test and have only two matches on the Mt or female line so far. I wont be able to trace my Kimball line because I know no living Kimball relatives. My Mitachondria DNA is going to be through the Redd line of my Mothers.

Hello: My family names are as follows. Wootten, Woodruff, Taylor, Redd, Kimball, Phillips, Staples, Johnson, Mitchell, Crawford, Jenkins, and the list goes on and on. My Paternal great-grandfather was Robert Wootten born in Va a free black born to a white female and a black male. He is listed in Surrey co. Va as a free black on the 1850 census. There is a long span where he is not found which is after the civil war. From 1860 to 1900 he is lost and in the 1900 census of Floyd co. Ga He is listed as married to a Martha Perry parents of 14 children 11 living and 8 at home. There is a large difference in age between Robert and Martha which says she was 15 and he was 55 years old when married in 1875? This is just a small amount of what I have on these two names. Any information is welcome
Frank R Wooten
